What To Do
When you feel stressed or when your mind feels as if it is messed up, do some colouring. Get a colouring book according to your heart’s desire and concentrate on making the pictures pretty.
What Does It Do
With every stroke of colour you apply on the picture, it will slowly transform into a beautiful piece of art. You will not only feel in control as you continue colouring but you will also begin to feel calmer. The stress from the annoyance caused by the voices will gradually lessen. you will feel more composed and lighter.
How I Feel After Doing It
My sister bought me a fashion-theme colouring book and I relied on it in the early stages of my schizophrenia’ journey. Each time when I am stressed, I would take out the book and start colouring. Every single picture that I colour releases my frustration as it slowly turns into a beautiful picture.
I feel more composed and lighter the more I concentrate on the colouring. It makes me happy as I can allow my imagination to run wild and apply whatever colours my heart fancy. Looking back on the coloured pictures gives me a sense of accomplishment too.
