At times, you may be feeling very tired and don’t feel like moving at all. This can happen to schizophrenics a lot as we are always bogged down by intrusive negative thoughts and voices that drain our energy. Try out this method. Use every ounce of your energy to lift up both of your hands towards the ceiling. Count to 10. Put down your hands. Repeat the steps if you still don’t feel like budging.
What Does It Do
Even if it’s very tough, do the above action as it serves as a source of distraction. Every little movement shows your courage and determination to get out of the situation. A change of mood is needed so you will feel more energized to carry on with your next activity.
How I Feel After Doing It
There are times when I feel as if an “anchor” or heavy feeling on my chest which leaves me no choice but to just lie down listlessly on the sofa. I would feel very suppressed and depressed and not feel like moving at all. It is as if all of my energy has depleted. After practising with this method, I feel more refreshed and able to slowly push myself to sit up. This method always helps whenever I have the “anchor” feeling weighing me down.
