Learning Languages Whenever You Want To
Time
Do it daily or anytime you feel like it
What To Do
Learn a foreign language on free applications. You may find them on App Store or Google Play Store. Learn daily, at least one lesson at a time. Level up each day.
What Does It Do
Completing every lesson daily gives a sense of accomplishment. Learning a foreign language gives you the boost to increase your self-confidence. Moreover, it may be useful to be able to speak and understand the foreign language when you travel abroad to that particular country.
How I Feel After Doing It
Learning languages gives me the distraction that I need besides being productive. Moreover, it is simply healing too. I feel very happy and proud after mastering a language up to intermediate level, at least. Languages are like bridges for people to communicate with each other. I personally find that being a polyglot is so sexy, in a way. Mastering foreign languages and moving around in foreign countries, as well as speaking their languages is just amazing. Think of the euphoria and joy where you can speak and understand foreigners.
As of now, I am able to speak English (native), Malay (native), Korean (advanced), Cantonese dialect (intermediate), Hakka dialect (beginner), Mandarin (intermediate), Japanese (advanced) and Spanish (beginner). I also travelled to Germany and attended intensive classes for a month at Goethe Institute where I passed the A1 level in German. I think I did great. I must say, I put in a lot of effort and I have my family to thank for supporting my language lessons.
If you like learning languages or just wish to fill up your time productively, I would suggest checking out Duolingo (for various languages), Language Transfer and Bunpo (Japanese) and Anki Pro (Mandarin flash cards) applications. Every single lesson is a step to becoming a better you. Now, imagine how many languages you can master in 10 years?
