What To Do
Surround yourself with a community that can help enlighten you with more knowledge of your mental health condition and how to better manage it. Read more about the condition and try to understand it. Reach out to mental health organisations and people who are undergoing the same condition while trying to live a fulfilling life.
What Does It Do
It will definitely help knowing that someone out there is undergoing the same situation. You will not feel as lost or as painful when you know you are not alone facing this mental health condition. You can rely on the information shared and implement some of the tips and advice to help manage your condition better. It will also boost your self-esteem knowing there are ways to go about managing the situation. There are many out there who strive to make this world a better place besides creating mental health awareness to the society. If you are a caregiver, you will get to better understand the symptoms of schizophrenia and take appropriate steps to help manage the situation.
To date, I have published a book of poems describing my decade-long journey with schizophrenia. This is not just a book of poems. It is a voice in the dark, a desperate hand reaching out for help and a journey of progress. It contains true-life experiences of the pain, fear, sorrow, anger and frustrations that I endured. How I Feel After Doing It
I started a social media account creating awareness about schizophrenia. I have over a 1,000 followers and the number is still growing. I am very proud of the hard work and effort I put into creating the website to help schizophrenics and their caregivers. This makes me feel worthy of my pride. I tell myself that I have reached my goal even if I end up helping only one person. I will still continue to work on it besides sharing tips and experiences which I undergone throughout the decade.
These days, articles are uploaded regularly. My motive for publishing them is to help others going through the same predicament as me.
I hope this will motivate our warriors and caregivers to never give up. Although there may be times when you feel like doing so, tell yourself to take a rest and start again tomorrow. Take one step at a time. Remind yourself that every day is a new start and you are worth it!
