Satisfy Your Cravings With Good Food
Time
During lunch/dinner or when you suddenly crave for some nice food
What To Do
There are times when we have the urge to eat something ‘sinful’. It is all right. Do not feel guilty. Consume your favourite food in moderation from time to time. Just ensure to lessen food high in carbohydrates, sugar, salt, caffeine and spiciness. Eat in small amounts to satisfy your hunger pangs.
What Does It Do
Eating food that you enjoy satisfies your hunger and takes your mind off the voices. Having a bite may keep you immersed in the taste of the food instead of focusing on the annoyance created by the voices. The burst of flavours will keep you engaged as you savour each mouthful of your favourite food.
How I Feel After Doing It
I feel very excited when good food is served. The visuals of my favourite food gives a boost to my mood especially when I get to take great pictures before devouring them. With each bite, I slowly savour their tastes which keeps me satisfied and contented. It is even more enjoyable having delicious food together with family and friends. Not only do I get to savour the tantalising tastes but I also get to enjoy quality time connecting with the people I love. Good food and good company, why not? What a great combination to drive away the annoying voices!
However, do not overeat as it could lead to unnecessary weight gain. When I was in the beginning stages of schizophrenia, I was not careful with my food intake. It caused my weight to increase by 5 kilograms. It made me unhappy as I have always been slim. This made me more aware of my diet and I realised that moderation is key.
Over indulging in food may cause unhappiness and discontentment to some people as the weight gain could affect the physical appearance of oneself. Thus, it is advisable to eat moderately and healthily. With that said, have fun experimenting with good food.
